Located in a recently gentrified part of Amsterdam-West, White Label Coffee is a coffee roastery, shop and cafe in one. All this programme had to to fit in a modest space with a generous height. To get the most out of the high ceiling a staircase with storage underneath was placed. The newly formed terraces create pleasant seating areas and impose spatial hierarchy, without breaking up the room. Blue veined granite and slate stone details provide a classy counterweight against the spartan grey plywood and, in line with modern day religious coffee culture, the coffee machine stands on top of the altar.
